2nd Indian Quaternary Congress

IQC is structured as a biennial gathering organised by AOQR and scheduled to be hosted every second year starting from 2022. The venue/host for the congress moves across India and will be overseen by AOQR on a successful bidding basis. This three-day congress encompasses a comprehensive program, including conferences, business meetings, exhibitions, and training sessions. IQC-2024, the second edition of this initiative, extends a warm invitation to the Quaternary community, encouraging active participation in this enriching three-day conference at Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Mohali during 3-5 June 2024.

The academicians/ researchers working on all aspects of Quaternary Science are welcome to

  1. Discuss the challenges and outcomes associated with the Quaternary climatic study,

  2. Promote the application of the interdisciplinary approaches in Quaternary Science, and

  3. Discuss the interface of human and societal evolution and climate variability vis-à-vis landscape evolution over the Indian subcontinent.

The congress will include plenary talks, invited talks, and participant presentations. Each session will have a dedicated slot for rapid talks, especially aimed at research scholars and post-graduate students. The congress will encompass all Quaternary aspects from the terrestrial and marine domains. We invite contributions under the various major and minor themes mentioned in the theme section.
